Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this course the students will learn how to solve physico-chemical problems. The course is a supplement to the lectures Phaysical Chemistry I-III. The exercises utilise the theoretical basics of the lecture Physical Chemistry I. Best practise is to visit this course in parllel the lecture Physical Chemistry I.

The course is in presence. On Monday the exercise will be provided via Moodle. In the following week the exercise is discussed in the exercise group. The students have to solve the exercise. After all exercise groups discussed the exercise a sample solution will be provided via Moolde.

If we are forced to digital teaching we use the following sequence:
On Monday exercise X will be provided in Moodle. The related digital quiz will also be activated on Moodle (replacement of presence in course). You have to deal with the quiz until Sunday 23:59. The sample solution of exercise X-1 and a tutorial video will also provided when the new exercise X is made available. Wednesday there is a digita course on exercise X-1 via BBB.

Assessment and permitted materials

- attendence will be documented by signature (beginning of unit!) - in case of digital teaching substitution by quiz in moodle
- attendence in 75% of the units is mandatory (9 out of 12)
-- three online tests in moodle:
Wed, 26.04.2023, 19:00 - 20:00
Thu, 25.05.2023, 19:00 - 20:00
Thu, 22.06.2023, 19:00 - 20:00

a) participate regularly in the units (at lleast 75%, that is at least 9 different units). In case of digital teaching this is replaced by online quiz'
b) participation in all 3 (!!!) online tests, and
c) to reach 46 points

- each participation values 3.33 points (in digital case: each quiz you made)
- in each of the 3 tests you can get 20 points
- the points from participation and tests are added

the student's garde is determined by the achieved points:
< 46P : 5
46P - 69.9P: 4
70P - 76.9P: 3
77P - 82.9P: 2
83P-100P: 1

Examination topics

content of the online tests: content of the exercise units (methods of problem solving, physical chemistry), from previous test (or start of semester) up to current test.
