Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The class will discuss the formation of solids from solutions. This includes basics related to precipitation, nucleation and growth, control of crystal formation (size, shape), hydrothermal and solvothermal syntheses, and sol-gel process. Materials such as oxides, silicates, organic-inorganic hybrids and biomaterials will be covered, including some examples of templated materials.
