Aims, contents and method of the course
Introduction, principles, techniques, and applications of quantum theory. Atomic structure and atomic spectra. Molecular orbitals for polyatomic systems. Molecular symmetry. Spectroscopy ¿ rotational, vibrational, and electronic spectra. Properties of gases. The laws of thermodynamics. Physical transformations of pure substances. Simple mixtures. Phase diagrams. Chemical equilibrium.
