Aims, contents and method of the course

Module Objectives: Students understand the fundamental processes that have shaped the Earth system in its development and are still active today. They comprehend the dynamic interaction between the Earth’s core, mantle, and crust, which forms the basis of plate tectonics. They are knowledgeable about the spatial distribution and temporal development of rock types and raw materials. They are familiar with the key stages in the formation of the Earth and life and can explain essential material cycles. Additionally, they are aware of the impact of human activities on the hydrosphere, atmosphere, cryosphere, and biosphere, which contribute to environmental pollution and climate change

Assessment and permitted materials

Multiple Choice Moodle Test in person. You must register separately for the exam date in u:space.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

In the exam, a maximum of 100 points can be achieved.
50.0-62.4 points = Grade 4
62.5-74.9 points = Grade 3
75.0-87.4 points = Grade 2
87.5 points and above = Grade 1
