Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Module Objectives: Students will be able to quantify fracture and viscous deformation based on stress and strain tensors. They know simple numerical methods with which they can analyze synthetic and natural data sets. They are familiar with the application of these methods to data recorded in the field.
Assessment and permitted materials
Two written partial performance exams on lecture and exercise material.
Participation and report on the exercises in the field.
Participation and report on the exercises in the field.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
2 written tests (Test 1, Test 2), a short written report on the field exercise.
Test 1 and Test 2 15 points each, report on field exercise 10 points each (50 points achievable).
No right to repeat a test; alternative date for test 1 and/or 2 by arrangement.
Partial performances must be positive: test 1 and 2 > 15 points, reports on field exercises > 10 points)
