The course will be converted to home learning operation until April 2, 2020 due to the current threat of SARS CoV-2. An extension of the home learning mode is possible.
The materials for the individual teaching units will be made available to you weekly on Moodle, which you should work through in homework. Please also use the textbook "Vertebrate Palaeontology" by M. Benton, which also is available on Moodle. Each lesson starts with basic questions, which you should be able to answer at the end using the materials provided.
You have to present a topic of your choice, which is course specific on the last day of the course and pass a single-choice test to successfully complete the course

Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
The modalities for the examinations will be adapted due to the changed situation caused by the extension of home learning. The course participants will receive detailed information by e-mail.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
This course highlights vertebrate palaeobiology topics including the evolutionary history of all major vertebrate groups and major events in vertebrate evolution. You also will learn about the science of vertebrate palaeobiology, have the opportunity to undertake research on exciting fossil vertebrates or vertebrate palaeobiological topics, and practice how to communicate research results to the public.
