Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Students will gain in-depth knowledge on various analytical techniques and methods used to address a range of challenges in environmental sciences. This will include an introduction to the workings and applications of methods for isotope analysis, surface chemistry analysis, and DNA extraction. Students will also learn how to develop experimental systems to investigate a range of geochemical challenges.
Assessment and permitted materials
2 examinations will be held during the course:
Examination 1: 25th November
Examination 2: 27th JanuaryEach examination will be worth 30 points for a maximum total of 60 points.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
In order to pass this course, at least 50% need to be gained. i.e. at least 30 points.
Examination topics
Examination 1 will be a 60-minute sit-down exam on the topics covered up until that date.Examination 2 will be a short presentation on the application of methods to a research question. More information will be given on Moodle and during the course introduction.
