Aims, contents and method of the course
Environmental science projects in research groupsThe MES4 Individual Research Project is an opportunity for students to work on a small project within a research group.The scope of the project needs to be appropriate for a 10 ECTS module and should include a literature review, the formulation of testable hypotheses, the application of analytical and statistical methods, planning and structuring of experiments and lab work. At the end, you will be required to summarise the results of all of these components and submit them in a project report in the style of a small research publication.
Assessment and permitted materials
Students need to identify a research topic/advisor to take them on for the research project (see list of lecturers) by Oct 15th at the latest. By January 28th. a project report needs to be submitted in the style of a small research publication summarising the results of the project work components.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
0-49 points: ungenügend (fail)
50-61 points: genügend (4)
62-74 points: befriedigend (3)
75-87 points: gut (2)
88-100 points: sehr gut (1)
