Aims, contents and method of the course

The course provides exercises for basic aspects of numerical weather prediction (mainly numerical methods and data assimilation)

Topics:
* Numerical methods and data assimilation to construct model initial conditions
* Applications and python exercises
* Presentation of simulated data

Assessment and permitted materials

Solution and presentation of exercises

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Grades will be based on solutions and presentation of results during the exercises.

Note: A laptop is required for solving the exercises.
