Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

In this seminar, we will read and discuss scientific papers on two different topics:

One half of the seminar will be led by Martin Weissmann and Tobias Necker.
Topic: Ensemble data assimilation

The other half of the seminar will be led by Andreas Stohl and Silvia Bucci.
Topic: Atmospheric Transport Modelling

A detailed reading list will be announced during the seminar.

Besides the scientific content, an important aim of the seminar is to learn how to effectively work with scientific literature.

Assessment and permitted materials

Presentation of at one scientific papers including critical review.
Continuous assessment of the participation in discussions.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

60% presentation of scientific papers
40% active participation in discussion

Students need to attend in at least 80% of all seminars.
