Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Optics, detectors, earth atmosphere, simple observing methods. The exercises provide hands-on experience with astronomical techniques.
The course has 5 modules, each consisting of a lecture part (PDF and videos in Moodle), a date for answering questions to the lecture content (in presence) and mandatory exercises (in presence).

Assessment and permitted materials

2 partial tests on 24.11. and 27.01. (as alternative one overall test on 27.01.) on the lecture content, evaluation of the performance during the exercises (practical examples, exercise sheets, participation)

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The grade consists of the following components:
- 60% lecture part (2 partial tests or overall test)
- 40% exercises (evaluation of uploaded exercise sheets, active participation during exercises)

Grading scale:
87% - 100%: sehr gut
75% - 86,99%: gut
63% - 74,99%: befriedigend
50% - 62,99%: genügend
<50%: nicht genügend
