Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

his seminar covers the late evolutionary stages of stars (except Supernovae). In particular we will talk about the Asymptotic Giant Branch and Red Supergiant phases. Nucleosynthesis, atmospheric dynamics, dust formation and mass loss will form the main topics of the seminar. We will discuss ongoing projects and recent publications.

Assessment and permitted materials

Contributed talk and active participation in the seminar

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Elaboration and presentation of one topic from the list of topics presented during the first units of the seminar. Active participation in at least 70% of the seminar.

Examination topics

Distributed materials, mostly reviews and original papers
