Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

I will briefly reintroduce the concepts discussed in the first part of the course for the benefit of students that were unable to follow that part. I will then discuss a few topics of classical cosmology: distance measurements, dark matter, structure formation, hot big-bang model and primordial nucleosynthesis, gravitational lensing, cosmic microwave background.

The students are kindly invited to bring their laptops, which will be used for hands-on sessions (resolution of cosmological problems, cosmological measurements on real data, simple cosmological simulations).

Assessment and permitted materials

Continuous assessment. Contact lecturer if not able to attend all class dates.
