Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
The amount of data from spectroscopic all-sky surveys is already tremendous. Currently, ground based as well as satellite based surveys from the ultraviolet to the infrared region are available. We will review those surveys and discuss their most important scientific results. In addition, we will present some tools to query and analysis the data bases within environments such as Virtual Observatory. For the seminar, we recommend the book "Data-Rich Astronomy: Mining Synoptic Sky Surveys" by Stefano Cavuoti (2015, LAP LAMBERT, Academic Publishing).
