Aims, contents and method of the course
This course provides an overview of modern macroeconomics in the short and medium run. In the beginning, we will briefly discuss the current financial and economic crisis. The main part of the course will focus on monetary and fiscal policy in the short run, as well as in the medium run. Time permitting, we will also talk about macroeconomics in the open economy.
Assessment and permitted materials
Regular attendance is a prerequisite for a positive grade. Assessment will be based on classroom participation, problem sets and a final exam.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The aim of this course is to provide students with tools to analyze simple macroeconomic questions.
