Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course will identify and elaborate major themes at the research frontier of geomorphology. Participants will present overviews of selected key papers from journals and books. Each paper will be examined with respect to its general importance for geomorphology, its relevance for the individual scientific interests and research projects of the participants and any general questions. If applicable the scientific value of the paper towards personal degree programmes (e.g. Master thesis, Ph. D. thesis, Habilitation) will be assessed.
Participants may also report on relevant topics to which they have been introduced at conferences, which they have attended and will discuss these in terms of their importance for geomorphology in general, for the Vienna Geomorphology Group within Physical Geography and for individual degree programmes. All interested graduates, post-graduates, tutors and teaching assistants are invited to participate.
