290037 VO Demographic Trends and Population Policy (2007W)

The lecture will focus on the main trends of the population development und gives an overview about policy measurements. The empirical data are reflecting the development in Austria and Europe. Trends in fertility, mortality and migration will be presented. In contrast to other demographic courses the focus will be given to political and jurdical aspects of the implicit and explicit steering of the population development in modern societies.
