Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

This seminar aims at analyzing and discussing economic and economic policy causes of divergence processes in the European Union and in the Euro-zone. Strategies to overcome the danger of a failure of European institutions will also be dealt with. Possible external interests in such a failure, e.g. by USA or China, will not be considered.

Assessment and permitted materials

The seminar is "prüfungsimmanent", which means that the presentations, summary of presentations and contribution to the discussions form the basis for evaluation and the mark.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Presence at the seminar according the rules for "prüfungsimmanente" courses.
Marking: presentation (including powerpoint-file): 70%; summary of another presentation: 10%; contributions to the seminar discussions: 20%

The students will be informed about the basic literature by a handout at the beginning of the seminar.
