Aims, contents and method of the course
Assessment and permitted materials
Written test with multiple choice questions as stand alone exam for students in the teacher’s education bachelor programme or as part of the module exam of the orientation phase for students in the bachelor geography programme (in combination with a test on the content of VO Introduction to Human Geography I).
All students in the master's program Geography: Global Change and Sustainability have to do an English exam which is based on the English reading list.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
Single Exam: Minimum of 25 (out of 50) points.
Module Exam: Minimum of 20 (out of 50) points for each part of the modul exam and a minimum of 50 (out of 100) for modul exam in total.

The following themes will be addressed:
- the development of human geographic thought and research paradigms,
- conflicts in spatial development dynamics and spatial planning options,
- transformation and differentiation of research perspectives in selected subject areas of human geography (in regional development, in spatial gender research, in research on retailing and consumption)
- selected concepts in developmental geography, especially social vulnerability,
- in-depth aspects of human-geographical human-environment research, in particular environmental migration and environmental health.
Content is presented and discussed in lectures supplemented by teaching materials and interactive forms of learning.
For students in the master's program Geography: Global Change and Sustainability who have to take the exam as stipulations with admission a special reading list in English is provided.
