Aims, contents and method of the course

"Transforming our world: the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development". This is the title of the sustainable development goals (SGDs) adopted by the international community in 2015, which will determine the global development policy agenda until 2030. Development policy and development cooperation is an area that has received increased attention in recent years, both politically and in the media, and is often discussed under the heading "Fighting the causes of flight". The excursion aims to give students an insight into the work of Vienna-based development cooperation institutions and organisations. The scope of practical development cooperation and different approaches to the topic of sustainable development will be illustrated.

- preparatory research (short written elaboration and oral presentation)
- Essay

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

- Preparatory research (short written and oral presentation) (30%)
- Essay (70%)
An active (online) participation on all excursion days is additionally required for a positive evaluation.
