Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
It is the goal of this course to prepare students for an excursion to Southeast European cities. Students should develop a general view on urban development in Southeast Europe, to be discussed in class. Students should be enabled to interpret topics of urban geography from the viewpoint of the SEE periphery. Historical path dependencies as well as contemporary processes of urban development will be elaborated - with a focus on cities to be visited during the excursion.
Assessment and permitted materials
Pro-active participation, obligatory readings, writing and presentation of a proseminar paper
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
(Online) class presence obligatory. 50% participation and presentation, 50% proseminar paper, both of which with a positive grade
