Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

As part of this course, an interesting excursion is offered in cooperation with thinkport VIENNA, which takes place on two afternoons (3.10. & 30.11.). The aim is to provide students with an insight to the challenges of the climate crisis in the context of logistics and transport at the Port of Vienna.
Part 1: Excursion - Exploration of the Port of Vienna
In this part, students will have the opportunity to experience the Port of Vienna first hand. We will take part in an informative tour where we will learn about the different aspects of port logistics. A special focus will be on the role of the port in the context of society as a whole and its impact on the climate crisis.
Part 2: Workshop - Climate crisis, logistics and transport
In the second part of the course, students can expect an extended examination of the topic. First, there will be an introductory presentation on the interrelationships of logistics, transport and related emissions in the context of the climate crisis. Afterwards, we will conduct an interactive climate workshop, which will be accompanied by Univ. Prof. Dr. Christoph Mandl. This workshop aims to provide participants with a systemic understanding of how to deal with the challenges of the climate crisis.
