Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course conveys the legal basis of Austrian spatial planning and building law and discusses the current challenges that arise from the integration of climate change adaptation, climate protection and other topics. To ensure understanding, European legal requirements, international treaties and, in particular, constitutional principles are also discussed.
In the first part of the course, the instruments and procedures of spatial planning are presented and discussed. The regulatory system of the final determination is covered, as are the federal state-specific approaches and differences. There is also an overview of environmentally relevant planning regulations and examination procedures (SIA, EIA).
In the second part of the course, building procedures and appeal processes in legal protection for parties are explained and discussed.
The individual LVA units must be prepared individually with discussion bases and submitted in the Moodle course.
