Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This course addresses the complexity of sustainable urban development by taking environmental-social-technical interactions at district-level into account. Challenges to be considered are among others climate, demographic, and digital change. These challenges raise the question how integrated development and planning approaches can and in practice do address the complexity and balance between the requirements of urban sustainability.Concepts such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, resilience and transformation as well as nature-based solutions, social and technical innovations will be taken up. Critical reflections will be based on the work with indicators and a multi-criteria evaluation framework.
