Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The central aim is to sharpen and discuss the concept of the respective Bachelor's thesis.
Individual theses are discussed critically. Assistance is offered in plenary sessions.
Presentations, group discussion, feedback

Preliminary agreements with lecturers regarding supervision commitments are not to be made!

Please send a preference list of your supervisor (1-2-3) WITHOUT a topic to Michaela.linzatti@univie.ac.at by 12 noon 2 days BEFORE the first date.
Those who do not send a preference list will be assigned.
Please follow the exact instructions in the Moodle course.

The Conversatorium serves to accompany the Bachelor's thesis. In addition to (1) a basic introduction to academic work and (2) accompanying writing mentoring by the supervisors, the course includes in particular (3) the presentation of the concept and the presentation of the central contents of the Bachelor's thesis by the students.
Over the course of the semester, students receive support and feedback from the respective supervisor as well as from other course participants. Through exchanges between students, participants gain an insight into different subject areas and various aspects of the process and approach to the thesis.
In the first course unit, the topics and deadlines are assigned (for the concept submission via Moodle, concept presentation and presentation of the thesis as well as for the submission of the Bachelor's thesis via Moodle).

Before starting to work on the topics, students must create and present a concept. They should outline the problem and its relevance, topic-related basics from the specialist literature and the planned procedure for working on the chosen topic. Students receive constructive feedback on their concepts from their supervisors and peers. Based on this, the topic can be further developed and the thesis written. The students are accompanied by their respective supervisor; if necessary, contact is made via e-mail. In the presentations, the students present their respective work and its results for discussion
