Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Within these two courses, background information on the consequences of global environmental changes for natural hazards is discussed. The lectures include, but are not limited to, topics such as "Introduction to global environmental change", "Landslides in change", "Creeping soil erosion", "Sudden and slow vegetation changes", Risk perception and risk management", Climate change and its possible influence on natural hazards". In the Konversatorium, most recent contributions to the previously mentioned topics will be reviewed. The respective contributions will be provided by the lecturers and have to be complimented by the students.
Both courses are announced as 1 hour/week, however, will be offered alternating fortnightly as 2 hour/week. They are accompanying special courses for the bachelor Module "Project from Physical Geography", however, are not limited to these students.

VO: Examination in last lecture
KO: Approx. 10-page summary of all reviewed contributions

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

VO: Introduction to relevant contents of the topic "Global change and natural hazards"
KO: Self-determined post-editing of the content
