Aims, contents and method of the course
Course graduates shall become familiar with relevant trends of development of postfordistic location dynamics as well as with their impact on regional steering processes. Based on the growing significance of the regional action level, the functioning of the competition of regions will be explained. Furthermore, the political conditions of regional development shall be scrutinised. The main part of the course is dedicated to the introduction of the concepts and tools of "new regional planning". Finally, students shall be able to explain the background of the current dynamics of regionalisation and critically reflect on essential aspects of the topical discussion on planning theory.
