Methods and spatial models are important tools of empirical urban and regional research. They have the purpose to identify and explore spatial structures and processes and to explain urban and regional development. The following methods are described and critically evaluated: spatial coefficients and indicators / shift-and-share-analysis / graph theoretic approach and shortest path analysis / spatial models / interaction models / type building and regionalisation
Selected Methods are explained technically and applied regarding specific and typical research questions.ECTS credit points: 3.0
