Aims, contents and method of the course

In this lecture, theoretical concepts of human geography are addressed by implementing concrete research projects. Students will be guided to develop their own empirical work on current research questions in human geography (development of research design and methodology, implementation, presentation of results) in small groups.

The general topic of the course (innovation-based transformations of the mobility sector) is conceptualized, operationalized and implemented together with the students using different empirical methods (mental maps, observation, document analysis, evaluation of secondary data).

The final presentation of results will take place in an interactive workshop format.

Assessment and permitted materials

Homework/reading tasks (individual work, literature on current research questions and theory)
Planning and conduction of empirical work (empirical survey, optional mapping / survey, observation and / or secondary data analysis)
