Aims, contents and method of the course

The excursion goes first to the Erkudoc museum, where an introduction to the geology and geomorphology of the Salzkammergut is given. Subsequently, the consequences of the Gschliefgraben landslide will be visited, which was reactivated in winter 2007/2008, leadind to the evacuation of 55 houses. Afterwards we will move on into the inner Salzkammergut and up to the Dachstein. Central themes are the glacial processes, the karst and landslides as well as the forms created by these processes. Conflicts of interest due to humans will also be discussed.
