Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The Bachelor Seminar deals with 10 selected current themes that deal with urban redevelopment projects. It aims at critically identifying, analyzing and understanding issues and opportunities around urban redevelopment strategies at the neighborhood, city and metropolitan scales. Examples are mega projects, built heritage valorisation, social cohesion, sustainable redevelopment, etc. Students will get a broad overview of different type of redevelopment projects and their strategies.

Assessment and permitted materials

Each participant gives an oral presentation on one of the 10 themes using a PPT (20-25 min.) that she/he uploads on moodle.
Participants in class provide critical and constructive feed-backs.
Each participant writes a final seminar paper that takes into account remarks provided during the discussion.
PPT presentation and paper can be in German or English.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Oral presentation, discussion participation and paper. Assessment: Oral presentation and discussion 40%, written seminar paper 60%.
