Aims, contents and method of the course
The seminar is a scientific discourse about (student-) selected topics approached via individual contributions through presentations/demos, discussions, and a brief written paper.The seminar focuses on the topic of "Places Of Interest" with the aim of gaining a deeper understanding of the spectrum of contributions, methods, datasets, and application areas that relate to the computational representation, processing, analysis, and visualization of places and areas of interest ranging from individual point-like features to larger regions.
Assessment and permitted materials
The assessment is done through an oral presentation/demo, participation in discussions, and a brief written paper/report about a set of scientific papers/methods/datasets.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
For a passing grade, a presentation, as well as a written scientific paper, are required. It is required to give a presentation/demo and submit a written paper. The individual grade depends on the quality of the presentation, the written contribution, and the active participation in discussions. Attendance is mandatory. One unit may be missed.100 % - 90 % = 1
