Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
Living with conspecifics seems to be the default option in vertebrates; the basic neuronal and physiological structures and functions were conservatively maintained from the advent of gnathostome fishes till today, over at least 450 mio years of Phylogeny. The course will start with an overview over the patterns of social systems in animals and will mainly concentrate on the structures and mechanisms involved in sociality.
Assessment and permitted materials
Depending on the pandemic-related regulations in force at the time of the examination, the examination will take place online or in person.ONLINE: The exam is an online exam with open questions in open-book format. The exam questions can be answered within 60 minutes and the remaining time (approx.. 30 minutes) is available for technical steps. The exam can be handed in at any time within the given time frame.PRESENCE: Written examination (maximum 60 min), based on 5 questions (no multiple choice), which optimally answered in key words result in 10 points each.

At least one question refers to the literature included in the course.

Ppt presentation (will be made available via moodle), discussions, integration of scholarly key peer review publications.
