Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
The students will use basic modelling techniques as found in ecology and related fields. The presented techniques are studied on the basis of specific ecological problems. In a hands-on fashion the students will design and simulate models, an overview of state-of-the art approaches in modelization of systems will be acquired.
We will be studying process-oriented models (deterministic, stochastic, discrete, continous and space-explicit), as well as statistic-descriptive models (networks, regression-based).

Examination topics
