    Aims, contents and method of the course

    Insects are the most successfull group of arthropods and have reached highest levels of adaptations in anatomy, morpohology and efficiency of metabolic and sensory systems. The lecture presents the insect orders including the phylogenetic development and deals with the general anatomical / morphological organization of an insect body. Detailed illustrated script!

    Overwiev about the system of insects including 34 orders, knowledge of morphology,, anatomy and important physiological capacities.

    Frontalunterricht mit Möglichkeit für Diskussion und Fragen, Besuch der entomologischen Sammlung des NHM Wien
    Skriptum der overhead.Folien gegen 20¤. Ab dem kommenden Jahr soll die Vorlesung weitgehend in Form von ppt. abgehalten werden.
