Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the LV is to awaken a basic understanding of behavioural biology, including relevant knowledge and new perspectives.
This is a literature seminar which requires the active participation of the students in three areas:
1. a topic (usually 2 papers) is worked on in teams of two and presented as a PowerPoint
2. actively joining in the discussion.
3. evaluating the performance of the colleagues as part of the exercise (evaluation sheet will be handed out).
4. reading the abstracts of all enclosed papers in order to have an appropriate background for the discussion.
Each contribution takes 30 min (20 min lecture, 10 min discussion).
Topics will be announced on Moodle in time.

Assessment and permitted materials

Seminar presentations, quality and style of the presentation, understanding of the content and participation in the discussion; mandatory assessment of colleagues' performance.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

To awaken a basic understanding of the nature of behavioural biology. To impart relevant knowledge, new perspectives.
