Aims, contents and method of the course

Based on the curricula of secondary levels I and II, prospective biology teachers will gain profound knowledge about molecular biology topics and the school preparation of these topics by using different didactical methods.
This course includes:

a) Molecular biology topics, such as the structure and function of DNA, gene expression, genetic engineering and genetic ethics, mitosis and meiosis, scientific work, etc.
b) Didactic preparation of molecular biology topics
c) Teaching a school class in the teaching-learning laboratory and feedback

Assessment and permitted materials

The performance review is based on partial performances, which are composed as follows:
- Attendance and active participation
- Submission of work assignments
- Reflection on your own lesson

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

The course has an immanent examination character. Therefore, participation in the course is obligatory. A maximum of one seminar date (1 seminar unit corresponds to 3.00 SWS) may be missed. All partial performances (various work assignments, Reflection on your own lesson) must be handed in on time and completed positively.

Examination topics

The evaluation is based on the fulfillment of the requirements in the area of performance control.
