usually 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. theory, from 4 p.m. practice on the Bee.Ed apiary (beekeeping practice, school bee and garden work) in cooperation with the "Bee.Ed" Project Group of the University Vienna
Theory: either online (synchronous and asynchronous) or in the AECC Biology UZA 2 Teaching-Learning-Lab; Practice: Bee.Ed Apiary UZA 2.!ATTENTION - Hybrid event:
4.3, 11.3, 18.3, 25.3 (online - synchronous and asynchronous);
15.4, 22.4, 24.4, 6.5, 20.5, 27.5, 10.6, 17.6, 24.6 (presence).Scheduled school class visits to the Bee.ed Apiary:
Week 19 - Week 24 (between May 10 - June 18).Note: Teaching with school classes will take place in the morning. Each participant is expected to teach 3 school classes themselves and observe 1 time (peer feedback), i.e. please plan for 4 mornings. These will be determined in consultation with the other participants (e.g. via Doodle in Moodle).Class starts March, 4th 2021

The following "Teilleistungen" (partial credits) must be completed and will be weighted as follows:
* Interactive lecture on a selected topic in bee biology (20%)
* Completion of self-study units on bee biology and beekeeping theory and practice (with quiz) (10%)
* Conducting teaching modules at three school classes on the Bee.Ed bee site, 1x teaching shadowing with criterion-guided peer feedback (20%)
*Active participation in practical work at the Bee.Ed bee site (beekeeping activities, bee garden) (10%)
* Portfolio (40%)All partial credits must be completed positively.

- the "superorganism" honey bee as well as wild bees, which important role they play for us and our environment (e.g. biodiversity conservation, crops) as well as their current global endangered status
- how you can use bees in the thematic field of environmental education/BNE within the school curriculum of secondary school level 1 in a learning goal-oriented way
- how natural beekeeping works
- how to establish bee colonies at your future school, how to found and lead a bee club or project workshop, and how to be active in bee conservation.The course is divided into different theory and practical parts:
1. interactive lectures on the biology of honey bees and wild bees
2. insights into bee threats and bee protection
3. insights into beekeeping theory and practice
4. insights into keeping bees at school and school apiculture
5. insights into the potentials of a didactic implementation of the topic "bee" at school, embedded in the thematic field of environmental education/BNE (17 Sustainable Development Goals)
6. independent planning and implementation of teaching modules with school classes on the Bee.Ed bee site (incl. criterion-guided peer and lecturer feedback)
7. practical work at the Bee.Ed research and teaching bee site of the AECC Biology (beekeeping, bee garden)
