This is a 2-week, full day block course. It will take place from Tuesday, May 25 until Friday, June 4 in the Berthold-Hatschek Übungsraum (aka Ü8) in the UZA1. Potential participants need to take part in the "Vorbesprechung" which will be held online on March 2nd, 14:00hrs, via the Moodle link available to registered students. Here, the final decision on course participation will be made. If you cannot register but are interested in participating, please send an email inquiry to the course coordinator Andreas Wanninger via andreas.wanninger@univie.ac.at on March 1st to receive an external link.
During the course, please be prepared to adher to all required safety measures as established by the University of Vienna to prevent spreading of the COVID-19 virus. Participants are strongly encouraged to make use of the free COVID-19 testing service at least twice per week.
In the course we will have live plankton samples from the Mediterrannean which will be investigated using compound and stereo microscopes. In addition, we have a large collection of planktonic animals mounted on glass slides that will be used for more detailed analysis. This practical part will be supplemented by videos and lectures.
