Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is conceived for Master students who participate in, or are interested in participating in, research projects on courtship behaviour and sexual selection. We will discuss ongoing projects including theoretical background, experimental design, methods and approaches, data analysis, interpretation of results, and preparation of presentations and publications.

Assessment and permitted materials

The assessment will be based on participation in the course in the form of a presentation and active involvement in discussions about planning, conducting, and evaluating research projects.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Course participants are expected to attend at least 70% of the sessions for a positive evaluation. This amount can be reduced in special cases, i.e. involvement in field projects abroad. Assessment is based on the level and quality of contribution to discussions and presentation.

Examination topics

Sexual selection, courtship behaviour.

Reading list

Papers to address specific topics will be distributed during the course.
