Classes

The course will take place from 19th to 30th of May. Coordination meeting will take place on 26th of March, at 10 am in SR 1.2. Please attend.


Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The aim of the course is to acquire skills in dealing with the (historical) histological material, its potential to extract 3D anatomical detail from otherwise inaccessible taxa or already serially cut samples, and to reconstruct the 3D structures

The course will be divided in 4 parts:
General instruction
- Generating digital images from the histological section series
- Alignment and attempt to reconstruct the original tissue or organ
- Interpretation

Students in groups of 2-3 will receive a series of histological slides, which to digitize, reconstruct in the course and also interpret.

Assessment and permitted materials

The project presentation at the end of the course, and active participation

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Active participation: 20%, final presentation: 80%
