Alle Übungsräume dürfen ausschließlich mit Labormantel und geschlossenen Schuhen betreten werden, ebenso muss bei Bedarf eine Laborbrille angeschafft werden. Privatsachen bitte in den Garderoberäumen verstauen.

Aims, contents and method of the course

Aims, contents and method of the course
The aim of the course is to deepen structural and functional understanding of vertebrate reproductive tissues, and along the way learn the basic methods for the histological research.

The course will be divided in three parts:
- basic histological methods in the laboratory (tissue fixation and paraffin embedding, sectioning and H&E staining)
- theoretical part: cell types, understanding of tissue composition and function
- advanced histochemistry (theoretical basics and practical lab work)

Students will each receive a certain reproductive tissue to study throughout.

Assessment and permitted materials

active participation, oral presentation, and written protocol.
