Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The students will become familiar with the problem of plastics in the ocean and their colonization and utlizations by organisms. Plastics will be sampled from the sea surface using specific nets towed by a ship. In the lab, samples will be analyzed and experiments with plastics under controlled conditions are performed.
The course takes place at the Ruder Boskovic Institute for Marine Research at Rovinj, Croatia (Giordano Paliaga 5, 52210 Rovinj) from 31st August -11th September, 2020
