Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
An introduction to the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in the context of biological applications, such as mapping of field data, inclusion of remote sensing data, such as air photographs and satellite images, the use of digital elevation models and simple applications of distributed hydrological models.
Assessment and permitted materials
There will be 3 excercises every session that every student needs to complete individually. In additon an written Exam will be held on Friday afternoon. Excesises and exams will count 50% each for the final grade.
Minimum requirements and assessment criteria
All projects need to be completed with pass within 1 week following the course; Exam needs to be passed (50% of points).
Examination topics
Exam will cover all topics of the course.
