Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

The course is a training in frequently applied methods of multivariate statistics (e.g., principal components analysis, regression and discriminant analyses). It is intended that short representations of the theoretical principles will be followed immediately by the practical working (' learning by doing'; preferred primary computer packages: Openoffice calc, DOSBox-x86-emulator).
The seminar is designed for advanced students of biology with basic knowledge in biometrics, additional knowledge in biometrics, statistics and computer programming, however, would be preferable and helpful.

Assessment and permitted materials

Controlling of cooperation during training courses -
Grading system: number of successfully completed courses = final grade
4 courses = grade 4
5 courses = grade 3
6 courses = grade 2
> 6 courses = grade 1

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

to relax the handling of advanced biometric procedures
