Information

Aims, contents and method of the course

Microbial Oceanography combines microbiology, oceanography, molecular biology, ecology, and biogeochemistry to understand how microbes influence ocean processes, global climate, and marine food webs. The lecture series provides selected topics on marine microorganisms and their interactions with the environment as well as general concepts in marine microbiology.
The aim is to obtain an overview on current knowledge and avenues in this wide research field.

Assessment and permitted materials

Written exam with in-person attendance. 10 open questions.
The first exam date will be 17th of June 9:45 - 11:15.

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

Passed with more than 60% positive overall performance with a total of 100 points.
Grading: 91-100 = 1, 81-90 = 2, 71-80 = 3, 60-70 = 4, <60 = 5.
