This lecture comprises the following subjects: phylogeny of Agnatha and gnathostome fishes based on selected anatomical and morphological structures under special consideration of the evolution of swimming, breathing and feeding. Moreover differences in the anatomy and morphology of selected domestic fish groups (e.g.: Cypriniformes, Gasterosteiformes, Perciformes) are discussed. The lecture will be supplemented by corresponding preparations (department and outdoors). The learning objective is knowledge and understanding of the phylogeny of vertebrate classes united under the term "Pisces", and the function of morphological structures in the connection with ecological parameters
