The course is to support theoretical explanations by practical field experience. Measuring methods are to be applied in a causalanalytic way to point out the interactions between ecological factors and plant reactions. This includes measurements of microclimate (solar radiation, albedo, radiation balance, temperature and air humidity, punctual and continuously) and simple physical and chemical soil tests. Simultaneously, plant water regime reactions to these environmental factors are determined (transpiration, diffusion resistance, xyleme water potential together with anatomical observations, stoma aperture). The method of harvesting gives insight to plant production. Results of the laboratory course are to be elaborated graphically, discussed and compiled to a final protocol.
