Information
Aims, contents and method of the course
This lecture series will deal with the molecular mechanisms of eukaryote-prokaryotes symbioses with emphasis on the eukaryotic host. The genes involved in the establishment and maintainance of several different symbioses will be described. Examples of symbioses will range from unicellular eukaryote-single prokaryote associations (i.g. Paramecium/Caedibacter) to more complex associations such as that involving the human gut microbiome. Common molecular principles among the described systems will also be described.
