The human genome, organization of the human genome, chromosome biology.
Genes in pedigrees.
Anthropological genetics; where did we come from.
How to study the human genome; methods and techniques.
Gene function, regulation.
Concepts of evolutionary genetics and population genetics: mutation, genetic drift/draft, selection, gene flow.
Genetic diversity; how to interpret; genetic adaption; example blood, HLA
Immunogenetics - human diseases and host defense.
Neurogenetics - genes in social recognition/behaviors.
Epigenetics.

Assessment and permitted materials

Minimum requirements and assessment criteria

broad understanding of current knowledge of human genomics/genetics
current knowledge/topics in anthropological genetics
understanding of gene functions, regulation
clear understanding of concepts in evolutionary genetics and population
genetics
knowledge about gene-environment interactions; diseases and behaviour
